Public Hearing - September 24, 2014

The Board of Supervisors of the Township of Silver Spring hereby gives public notice that it will hold public hearings on September 24, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Township Municipal Building, 8 Flowers Drive, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania to consider:

Agricultural Security Area (ASA) Application for Selena Updegraff (58 Biddle Road, Carlisle). The purpose of this application is to review said property and determine if the property should be accepted into the ASA Program.

Ordinance No. 5 of 2014 would amend the Silver Spring Township Zoning Ordinance with regard to Section 412 - Communication Antennas, Towers, and Equipment, by modifying the current standards related to communication antennas and towers;

Ordinance No. 7 of 2014 would amend the Silver Spring Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance with regard to Section 301 - modification or requirements for Conservation Subdivision Developments; and 

Ordinance No. 8 of 2014 would amend the Silver Spring Township Zoning Ordinance with regard to Section 232 - Conservation Subdivision Overlay Zone and Section 207  Village Overlay Zone and other related sections.

Following the public hearings, on September 24, 2014, the Board of Supervisors will consider enactment of these items.

A copy of Ordinance 5 of 2014, No. 7 of 2014, and No. 8 of 2014 may be examined without charge or a copy of the ordinance may be obtained for the cost to prepare the copy at the Township Municipal Building during regular business hours. Copies are also being furnished to and may be examined at (a) the office of the newspaper publishing this notice and (b) the office of the County Commissioners of Cumberland County, Second Floor of the Cumberland County Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Square, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Land Preservation Review Board - August & September

On August 12, 2014 and September 11, 2014 at 6 pm the Silver Spring Township Land Preservation Review Board will be conducting regular meetings about the land preservation program. The meetings will be held at the Township Mmunicipal building located at 8 Flowers Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA. Zoning Hearing Board - September 8, 2014

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Silver Spring Township Zoning Hearing Board will meet on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the Township Municipal Building, 8 Flowers Drive, Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17050 to conduct a public hearing on and consider the following applications:

Variance 2014-6  NAPA, 9 Eleanor Drive, New Kingstown, PA 17072.  The applicant is requesting a variance to Section 313.3 Specific Sign Requirements.  The request is for additional square footage of onsite signage and to permit offsite directional signage.  (Tabled from August 11, 2014 meeting)

Variance 2014-7  Arthur D. & Grace E. DAgostino, 103 Skyline Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. The applicants are requesting a variance to Section 204.6 Design Requirements - Minimum Lot Width and Section 507.2 Nonconforming lots.

Variance 2014-8  Timothy & Dorlene Morgan, 434 Sample Bridge Road, Enola, PA 17025. The applicants are requesting a variance to Sections 502; 503.1.2; 202.6; and 604.11.

The above applications have been submitted pursuant to Section 604 of the Silver Spring Township Zoning Ordinance. All interested parties are encouraged to attend this hearing.

Zoning Hearing Board
