Programs and Activities

You must pre-register for all programs and activities. Most of our programs and held in the Silver Spring Fire Company Social Hall or Cumberland Valley School District facilities.

REGISTER for WINTER PROGRAMS

To avoid an online convenience charge, call or stop by to complete the registration at no additional fee. Payment and registration can be handled by phone at 717.766.1657 ext. 2501.

  • LINE DANCING (Ages 13+) Put on your boots or sneakers and learn a few beginner level dances. Tamora will teach you popular dances that are done at the Winners Circle Saloon in Grantville, PA. A class trip to the Saloon is held after the dance sessions end. Join the fun!
  • ZUMBA (Ages 13+) Beginner/Intermediate. Zumba incorporates Salsa, Merrengue, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Samba, Hip Hop, Belly Dancing, Disco, and more into a cardio workout. No previous dance experience is necessary.
  • MAT PILATES (Ages 18+) Beginner/Intermediate. Work your core muscles and enhance muscular strength and flexibility.
  • YOGA FIT  (Ages 18+)  A great introduction to yoga for everyone and everybody. Please bring a yoga mat or large towel.
  • HORSE GROOMING AS A FORM OF THERAPY (Ages 18+)  Spend a relaxing hour grooming a retired racehorse (Thoroughbred Rescue) at the Honeysuckle Faire Farm. Enjoy quality time brushing a majestic horse at this Mechanicsburg stable. You will learn the proper way to safely groom a horse and at the same time release your own tensions! No riding is included.
  • SAT PREP COURSE (High School Students) "Successful results since 1978." This course is offered through Achievement in Education and is coordinated with the SAT test dates through the CV School District.
  • COED VOLLEYBALL-WEDNESDAYS OR THURSDAYS (Ages 18+) Various skill levels. Standard pick-up games for men and women.
  • CPR/AED & FIRST AID CERTIFICATION (Ages 18+) Two year certification courses are held monthly. (CPR includes adult, child, infant and AED training)
  • AARP DRIVER SAFETY (Ages 50+) 8-Hour First Time - This course is for those who have not taken the course before and would like to fulfill requirements for an insurance discount.You must register for this course and pay at the first class. 4-hour Refresher - Please bring proof of prior certification. You must register for this course and pay the night of the class. Cash or checks only for this class. 
  • KINDER DANCE CLASSES (Ages 2-5) Two yr. olds - Build motor skills, physical development and body awareness. Learn numbers, colors, shapes and songs. Three - Five yr. olds - This dance/movement and fitness program introduces ballet, tap, and basic acrobatics.
  • SUMMER CAMP - 8 Weeks (Ages 5 - 12)  This traditional day camp is held at the Silver Spring Elementary Cafeteria/Gym and begins shortly after school ends at Cumberland Valley. Daily organized activities are designed to promote exploration, creative expression and an enthusiasm for trying new things. Activities include active games, art projects, crafts, theme events and sports activities. A few trips are taken weekly to local parks, education centers and sport facilities to expose our campers to the outdoors. All costs are included in the registration fee.
